ABOUT ME
Hi everyone!
My name's Kelly and i'm a freelance groom based in a small village on the outskirts of Wisbech in Cambridgeshire. Although I've been working on ridingschool/livery/competition yards since my early teens I've been established freelance since 2018 and have loved every single minute of working with such a wide range of equines and of course their fabulous owners!
Brought up in rural Hertfordshire, I've been in love with horses for as long as i can remember. From being plonked on Shetlands from the age of 2 it was safe to say my love would flourish into an obsession and lifestyle choice (something im pretty sure my parents would come to regret over the years as i begged them to take me across the country to various horse shows and pony club events)..

Over the years I've been lucky enough to have some amazing opportunities across multiple disciplines! I've represented my university across the central region for showjumping/dressage, competed/groomed county level showing, trained with a 4* eventer and multiple GP dressage riders (including a GB team member), competed BD & BS, groomed for an international dressage rider and much more... I understand what it takes to keep a horse in top form and the hard work involved in keeping them there. To this day i still regularly train with my wonderful instructor (a BD Listed Judge) who regularly helps me try to mould myself to be the best i can be.

In 2015, having finished a BA(Hons) at Coventry University, i made the choice alongside my family to relocate to the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk borders and haven't looked back since! FDL (my chestnut 16.2hh IDxWB mare) shortly joined the family soon after and since then I've been focused on producing her up the levels for BD alongside my work schedule. Life with equines is never plain sailing and despite the setback of an early Spavins diagnosis I'm proud to say she is thriving with our dream! Our goal ultimately though is simply to have fun - while I'm the first to admit i am very competitive, the horses mental/physical well being always comes first. Knowing i can allow my horses to live a nurtured and thriving life is the greatest accomplishment of all.

Whether you own a cheeky Shetland, hairy hacking cob or world class jumper we all have an appreciation in common - i cant wait to meet you and your furry family!

Many welcomes,
Kelly
